In this paper, an attempt is made to modify the concept of parcel management system to cope with modern edge. It is design to meet the needs of those people- who want to go ahead with time and needs the security of their parcels. The present invention overcomes the deficiencies of parcel management system for providing parcel information by using operational data extracted from existing wireless telephony communication network infrastructure without adversely impacting network resources. Here we proposed a web-based parcel management system using MS (Mobile Station). A wireless telephony communication network consists of base stations or cell towers that communicate with mobile phones and other wireless communication devices using licensed radio frequencies. We know a mobile phone is able to stay in three states: Active, Idle and detached. In our system, to track a cargo as well as a parcel, we attach a mobile phone with each cargo which is only able to stay in idle state i.e. the phone is always in a powered on state. When a mobile phone is powered on, it registers its location with the network periodically. The present invention is used only the location information from the network to track a parcel.
