Reduction of Channel Noise and Multipath Effect by Antenna Diversity

The bit error performance of wireless communication is highly influenced by Channel noise and multi-path propagation. In this paper, the authors examine the complexity associate with Siavash M. Alamouti Transmitter diversity and receiver diversity for higher order Constellation point Modulation process due to channel noise. Especially some difficulty arises in the Maximal ratio combiner (MRC) when M-ary phase shift keying (PSK) i.e. 16-qam or 64-qam is used. A model is proposed using Euclidean distance to give the proximity symbol to each Constellation point for higher order Modulation i.e. M-ary PSK. Match filter is used to increase signal to noise ratio (SNR). The proposed model can be extended for more than 2-antenna diversity. The new scheme requires some bandwidth expansion but does not require any feedback from receiver to transmitter.
