An Improved Algorithm for the Call Admission Control (CAC) in Wireless Cellular Networks

The rapid growth of wireless mobile community, coupled with their demands for high speed, wide band, multimedia services, stands in clear contrast to the limited radio spectrum allocated in international agreements. Call admission control is a key element in the provision of guaranteed quality of service in wireless networks. In this paper, some analysis basics to help in better understanding the performance and efficiency of admission control schemes in cellular networks is presented. So radio resource management (RRM) remains as a key challenge to the efficient engineering of mobile wireless networks. An advanced RRM algorithm that not only significantly increases network performance but also reduces the co-channel interference is proposed here. Finally, the paper concludes on the state of current research and points out some of the key issues that need to be addressed in the context of call admission control for future cellular networks.
